3rd Round GP @ Kuala Pahang - 02nd & 03rd July 2011

After a disappointed ending at Tg. Leman, I'm looking forward to the next round of biggest fishing tournament in the country....3rd round GP at Kuala Pahang, Pekan, Pahang. Expected to be held on 02nd & 03rd July 2011, my personal preparation & enthusiastic feeling is not so well this time. Probably because most of my colleagues declared not to join this round due to various commitments & reasons. Anyway, normal routine must goes on & as usual, I was invited a newcomer from P.Net forum to join me in the name of fishing. Hopefully to get enough members otherwise, I'll pull out from this tournament as well.

Another year of GP Joran Fishing Tournament

The 1st round of GP Joran Fishing Tournament is just around the corner. It will happens on 7th & 8th May 2011 and this time it will be at Tg. Leman, Mersing, Johor. From the first day of knowing the actual date of the event, I have started to advertise in the Fishing Forum (Pancing.Net) looking for team members. Alhamdulillah, within 2 weeks time all 8 seats has been occupied by 7 'hardcore' forumers from various state. Now, the next stage is to prepare all necessary equipments as well as registration process. I plan to bring my new Daiwa Exceller 5000T match to one piece ATC rod and another pair will be either new Daiwa Saltist 4000 or Abu Gracia Soron to be combined with Lemax Grand Tournament.

The story begins.......I went out for lunch with my colleague. After having a wonderful meals + 'giant' glass (sebesar selipar) coconut juice, I drop by at regular fishing outlet (the 2nd Malay fishing retailer in Kuantan). With RM400 in my pocket (I planned to pay for my loan....he2), I was amazed with the solid looking and 'corporate' grey colour of the reel in the glass rack. Take a look, hold & spinning for a few moment, without thinking any further....I paid RM170.00 to the 'tauke'....and that's what I got. The best thing is, it was already equipped with aluminium power knob (not in the picture) which I liked most. Another problem is, what kind of line & poundage I want to fill to the spool...hmmm. Power-pro braided....so expensive, imagine RM200++ for 200-300m....This is what we called....Malay Dilemma.

2010 targets!

I've decided to reparticipate in the fishing tournament starting with 1st Round GP Joran @ Kuala Pahang, Pekan this coming 10 & 11th April. With a new friends from Pancing Net portal, I wish to get a good knowledges from 'otai-otai' especially in handling & managing the big fish. Although my equipments is not as complete & expensive as the other 'otai', but at least I can learn new experience from them. I just bought my latest rod, it's only 6'6" Lemax Night Eagle which cost me around RM80.00. I'll suit it to my existing Banax Triton which I normally used for surfcasting. The other set will be Abu Soron ST60 (also brand new) reel match to my old 5'6" Fenwick Eagle (it was just a coincident although both rods named by the famous eagle). Hopefully this trip will be the beginning of my meaningful life after having difficulties & headaches during working days lately. I really need full support from my lovely wife & children in everything I done.

3 months 'missing in action'

It was almost 3 months since my last post and it was already in a year of 2010. 3 months without any updates while waiting for the monsoon season to be over meaning that in that period of time, there is no fishing activities ever. Today, in a month of March 2010, while the monsoon seems to be over (I guess) in a couple of weeks ahead, my plan is to sharpen my skills & weapons before dive into more serious 'war' between me and sun, waves, wind, patient, dissappointment, failure and so on. Early this year, I have bought a brand new set (rod & reel) for light action fishing. I was 'poisoned' by an interesting article (promotion/ads???) in a fishing magazine which was seriously promoted the durability & goodness of their products with a truly attracting proof.....Siakap. Not long after I got my monthly salary, I rushed to my favourite fishing store, made some deal and ended up smiling with Hemingway SMA30 + 30lb 'Ayam Brand' braided line and Spartan Rod...thanks to MGFA successful promotion and I've lost RM220 to the 'taukeh'.

It was another Sunday

It was Sunday again. With no activity related to fish, river and sea, I was 'stuck' in house doing indoor activities together with my beloved family. Latest weather forecast the third wave of heavy rain which can cause flood starting from next week till early next year. It seems that, during that time I will not going to do any outdoor activities especially fishing related activities. I really hope that if there is heavy downpour, it will not cause a flood as my housing area is within a 'potential' flooding area...Ya Allah, please help us. The temperature is still cold and the best thing to do during this time is....cover all your body with blanket and sleep along with your love one.
